The Federation of Families of SC is a family run advocacy organization providing training and support for family members of children and adolescents with mental health needs. The Federation is currently hiring part time regional family outreach coordinators. These positions are designed as parent to parent support and training positions. The most beneficial experience for these positions is that of parenting a child with mental health needs. Training for other aspects of the position will be provided. Duties will include providing information, support and training to other parents of children with mental health needs and the importance of involvement in treatment and advocating for their child as well as professionals who work with those families. Applicants need to be able to work flexible hours that may include occasional nights and weekends to meet the needs of families, and must have reliable transportation.
These coordinators will be working with families in pilot areas that include the following counties: (Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, Beaufort), (Williamsburg, Georgetown, Horry).
